Real People Real Lives
Atira unveiled the media launch (October 16th) of a photo exhibition highlighting twelve residents living in SRAs in the Downtown Eastside. The project, a collaboration with B.C. Housing, was started more than a year ago to portray a side of the DTES not often seen or heard in the media; one of hope and vibrancy. In his images, photographer Michael Bednar wanted others to see what he was able to see while interacting with each person; a deep sense of community. The exhibit is open to the public and will be on display until October 29th at:
Pacific Centre Rotunda
(Corner of Georgia and Howe Street)
Open during mall hours
The full photo exhibit will then be available from October 30th – November 14th at the:
Interurban Gallery
1 Hastings Street
Wednesday – Sunday
1:00PM – 5:00PM
Admission is free
